Waiguru rescues orphaned twin brothers at the verge of missing university admission

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has come to the rescue of orphaned twin brothers who were about to miss an opportunity to join university due to lack of fees.

Samuel Comba and his twin brother Antony Muriuki got admitted to Maseno University and Moi University respectively, but were yet to report due to lack of funds. The plight of the two was brought to the attention of the governor while she was on a development projects inspection mission in Kavote, which is their home area.

Each of the two achieved a mean score of B+ despite having had to drop out severally from the nearby Kavote Mixed Day Secondary School where their 65 years old grandmother struggled to maintain them.

When she heard of their plight, Governor Anne Waiguru made a promise to assist them throughout their university education, a promise that was fulfilled on Sunday when the County Executive Committee Member for Education, James Kinyua Mutugi presented to them school fees cheques on behalf of the governor. Kinyua urged them to work hard in their education so that they can set a good example for other children to emulate.

The twins could not hide their joy as they expressed their gratitude to the governor for coming to their aid, promising that they will work hard to excel in their studies and become of help to others and to the society.

Comba will be pursuing a degree in Information Technology while his brother Antony will be taking Bachelor of Education and Arts degree.
